Ugobe

Adorable as a puppy, high-tech as a NASA rover, and accurately modeled after a baby camarosaurus, Pleo is an astonishingly personable “life form” developed by robotic wizards Ugobe as the ultimate almost-pet. When Ugobe needed perfectly pitched website copy, they called the Content Bureau.

“It was no easy task to find just the right voice for Pleo,” says Caroline Buckley of big BOING, who “Without a lot of direction, the Content Bureau interviewed the inventors and designers, ‘got it,’ and came up with great copy under a very tight deadline.” – Lisa Abbott, Vice President of Marketing oversaw the development of Pleo’s new online home. “Pleo’s cute, but he’s not a toy for kids. He’s robotic, but he’s not just for techies. He’s an absolutely unique product. The Content Bureau nailed Pleo’s voice.” (Pleo himself just honks and hoots. His “voice” is the playful online text that describes his personality, functionality, and community of ardent fans.)

Ugobe’s Lisa Abbott, Vice President of Marketing, recalls that the Content Bureau jumped into the website development at a hectic time. “Pleo was still in prototype, and we really hadn’t worked out a story for him. Without a lot of direction, the Content Bureau interviewed the inventors and designers, ‘got it,’ and came up with great copy under a very tight deadline.”

Of course, we had a charming green muse for inspiration.
